HostMF offers several ready-to-use images for Windows and Linux VPS, however, it is often necessary to install an operating system that is not available in the list of images.

This tutorial will show the step-by-step process for installing a custom ISO on a HostMF VPS.

  2. Click the "ISO" option in the menu.

  3. Enter the ISO download URL. This URL must be a direct URL.

  4. Wait for the download to complete. The status should reach 100%.

  5. Go back to the VPS list, and access the panel of the VPS where you want to install the ISO.

  6. Click the VPS menu "Configurações" and then "Settings".

  7. Select the uploaded ISO in the VPS ISO settings.

  15. Once this is done, you will have access to the operating system installer, and you can proceed with the installation normally.

Virtio Driver: Problem loading the disk during Windows installation:

When installing Windows you will encounter a problem loading the storage driver during installation.
It will be necessary to install the VirtIO driver so the VPS storage driver is recognized.

To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. When installing a Windows ISO, the system will not recognize the storage driver (HDD or SSD). So click the Browse option.

  2. Then choose the Secondary CD drive E: and click the icon to expand it.

  3. Open the "viostor" folder, then click the folder corresponding to the operating system being installed, click amd64 and click "Ok".

If you have difficulty finding the folder corresponding to your operating system, see the examples below:
    Windows Server 2016 = folder 2k16
    Windows Server 2019 = folder 2k19
    Windows Server 2003 = folder 2k3
    Windows Server 2008 = folder 2k8
    Windows 10 = folder w10.

  4. If the selected option is correct, the driver should appear in the list of drivers to be installed. Click "Next".

  5. Once this is done, the storage driver will be displayed and the installation can proceed normally.
